Recently

It's been awhile. But of course it has, because I am terribly unfaithful to my little blog...

My deep apologies

So. A few recent updates

I have completely my first year at Lakewood Park
I am now a junior!
I have found my new love for Chemistry and science (weird, right?)
After highschool, I'm considering pursuing becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife
I am continually blessed by the amazing people placed in my life
Thank you, if you are one of them. :)
Daily, I am trying to CHOOSE JOY in everything

A few pictures, for you all...

I have had an awesome year thus far, things are going so, so well in my life right now.
Thank you Jesus for allowing me to come to this place.
I am beyond thankful.

Dying Sunsets & Spring Breaths

The light was glorious.

Below the garden a green field lush with clover sloped down to the hollow where the brook ran and where scores of white birches grew, upspringing airily out of an undergrowth suggestive of delightful possibilities in ferns and mosses and woodsy things generally.

Beyond it was a hill, green and feathery with spruce and fir; there was a gap in it where the gray gable end of the little house she had seen from the other side of the Lake of Shining Waters was visible.
Off to the left were the big barns and beyond them, away down over green, low-sloping fields, was a sparkling blue glimpse of sea.

Anne’s beauty-loving eyes lingered on it all, taking everything greedily in.

She had looked on so many unlovely places in her life, poor child; but this was as lovely as anything she had ever dreamed.
She knelt there, lost to everything but the loveliness around her, until she was startled by a hand on her shoulder.

Marilla had come in unheard by the small dreamer.

Recent Wellness

Hello Lovelies, I hope you're all doing terrifical. :)

As you might have know, I deal with health issues daily, (and they have gotten a million times better) but, I discovered that living an overall healthy lifestyle makes it all the more tolerable.
Thus, I have done a few things:

Beneficial food is a must.
Gluten, Dairy, and refined sugars are out of the picture at this point.
I know, I know.
Chocolate chip cookies and bread with butter right out of the oven is to die for.
But with discipline comes reward.
At least I hope.

Anywho, things are doing amazing right now for me.
School is a blessing 100%
It's a challenge, an opportunity, and a journey. And I am more than thankful for it.

And photography? Well, I haven't forgotten about it. Though, I'd have to pencil it in nowadays.
But occasionally I'll take a few snaps.

And yes, all of these photos are taken with my iPhone. Not breaking out the fancy camera recently. But it'll be back. I'll be back. Just not now.

Thank you for following my messy life, it's an honor to hear from you all, yet still.
I would love to give back to you all somehow.
Maybe I'll do a giveaway of some sort, I haven't decided yet. Also, let me know if you want YouTube videos, I haven't had a super strong urge to make them, but I've definitely thought about it.

Oh, and hey. Can we just talk about Avocados for a sec?
They're so gorgeous + filled with delicious fatty acids!
Mmmm.

Beautiful.

God bless,

"Where Have You Been, Man??"

I know. I know.

It's been awhile... quite possibly a long while.

Few things:

// Mentionable Info //

I now attend Lakewood Park Christian School as of August.
I enjoy it as of recently.
Reading Harry Potter: The Order of the Phoenix
Supposedly eating healthy? (no thanks)
Inspired by a friend to continue my photography, in business form.
I'm also really excited about that.
Apparently I'm getting old, now people expect me to drive, and I'm scared.
*whew* glad I got that off my chest.
My admiration for ice cream has remained the same, I'm afraid.
Finally, I have decided to try to chose joy in all aspects of life. Depression is a thing of the past!

That's about it for a lame update. My health has improved greatly. Thank you to everyone who have continued to pray for healing. My journey has been a long and great one, I am so thankful for everything that has come out of this.

Also, be sure to check my portfolio once and a while. I will be updating photos.

And don't forget to follow my daily lifestyle photography on Instagram

Thanks for reading this small update, it's been a pleasure. I hope to be blogging more within the new year!

Blessings,

Whoa It's Been a While...

Hey stranger.

I know. Shame on me.
I have been so very neglectful of this poor little blog and my few faithful readers.

Well, here you go. Just another small peek in the life of Sayda Jaycee. It's not much. Just  confusing, unfortunate, exciting, fantabulous, boring, joyful, and filled with Grace.

A few things:

Yeah, I have some pictures for you all. :) Not too many, but some.

The quality is not the best on these, they've been tossed back and forth computers many times.

Anyway, those few things:

I was indeed gone for three weeks this summer traveling the East Coast staying with friends and family. A few stops were: New York City (favorite!), Washington DC, Portland Maine, and North Carolina. All of which were beautiful to capture.

If you follow my journey on INSTAGRAM, you would be a little more familiar with my recent excursions.

I have been in school for the past two and a half weeks. And I am quite aware how early that is. I went back August 9th.... So entirely soon. But you know, summer was good. Short. Yet good. So I am continually thankful for my experiences.

School has its pros and cons. Less freedom, homework, drama, etc. Friends, English, lunch, etc. So all in all it hasn't been terrible. :)

Some summer snapshots:

I was able to FINALLY master the French macaroon!

And I fell in love with blooms. (Once again)

Sorry for such a long post. I would love to do a "recently" post. Life, etc. Just let me know if that's something you'd like to see! Thanks for reading, everyone!

Blessings,

More Than Missing--A Yearn

Three small, noisy, adorable children entered into my life and left soon after.

So, it's not that I miss them. It's not that I want to be back where I was one week ago--listening to the whining, watching the house crumble apart, stepping on hard and colorful plastic. I'm good, I can handle not dealing with that.

However, I have something more than "Missing." I have a deep yearn. I only want the best for them. They were the sweetest and most polite children I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. And surely we had our difficult times. There were moments where I grew bitter and angry against their own mother. When her own child spat in my face, I wondered spitefully: "Where is your mother, child? Why isn't she the one putting up with these tantrums? Why me, of all the people on this earth, taking care of you? A sad, little confused mind..."

And that's all he was. Just a very confused soul. He doesn't know where he's going to wake up. He doesn't know where his mommy is. He's never even met his father.

I just can't imagine. I can't...

These things are what gave me grace for him. I had to. It's wasn't his fault that his mother couldn't pull herself together enough to take care of her kids. It's not their fault. And so I clung to that as I carried on throughout each day with our rough moments.

The one I miss the most is the smallest. He had the most contagious smile. He grinned, and your heart just melted. I miss him more than anything. I can't stop thinking about the world he's about to grow up in. I think of his little feet, where they may walk. His little hands, what they may touch. And his little heart, and what it might feel. I wish I could give them the world. I want only the best for all of them, but I have to trust God that He knows what He's doing in sending these babies to where He has them. I can't stop feeling angry, however. They deserve better. I wish it didn't have to be like this.

I wish they could have the childhood that I had. Growing up in Jesus' Word, going to a sweet, Christian school, attending church every Sunday. I want that for them so, so badly.

But I know that is not the life God intended for them to have. And He could very well take a hold of their lives and gear them towards Him. It's been done. It's just going to be hard.

That's my prayer for tonight, and for my personal days to come:

Jesus, be with my temporary babies. Place Your hand on their hearts, so that a seed will be planted in their minds, to grow to love and glorify You. Thank you for the time I had getting to know them. I know that you are in control of everything. Please protect the oldest, He's feisty and strong-willed, guard his heart of impurities. Lay Your blessings on the girl--Lord, I know she's shy and skittish. Shield her from evil, God. And finally for the tiny one. He's so small and fragile. I pray His feet walk on the grass of green pastures, and that his soul is filled Your sweet-tasting streams.

In Your Precious Name,
              ~Amen

Blessings to all, thank you for all the prayers invested in these little people.

Summertime Snapshots

I am too close-minded and clouded today to write what's on my heart. Hopefully I will be back soon with updates and monthly happenings + favorites.
My last post indicated that I wasn't doing too well, that remains true. Prayers would be much appreciated at this time in my life. But for now, I thought I'd share some of my recent photography:

Hope you enjoy some of my recent snapshots, I'll be back soon with a lifestyle update.

Blessings,

~Sayda
